Tree Of Joy

A Christmas tree built from real fir branches, hung with ornaments stitched one by one: baubles, mittens, stockings, small birds and a gold star at the top. It is worked in counted cross stitch on the Aida supplied, with back stitch for the outlines and a few French knots; the metallic gold threads add sparkle to the decorations.

The stranded cottons come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no sorting before you start. The frame is not included: you will also want a hoop and a sharp pair of embroidery scissors. Once finished, it makes a Christmas picture to hang year after year, or a gift to prepare over the autumn.
