A line-up of mischievous cats, each with its own pun: one procrastinating among the balls of yarn, one pouring tea, one playing the fool in a jester's hat, one enjoying a tonic and one off to bed in striped pyjamas. The long, narrow shape suits a landscape frame, a panel above a doorway or a kitchen shelf.
The design is worked by counting the squares of the fabric: alongside the cross stitch there is back stitch for the outlines and a few French knots for the details. Everything needed for the stitching is in the kit; you will want to add a hoop or frame, small scissors and, once finished, a picture frame.
