Midsummer

A summer scene in the countryside: a girl with her back to us walks through a meadow of poppies, daisies and cornflowers, with a windmill on the horizon. The design is worked in counted cross stitch following the full colour chart with symbols, usually with two strands of stranded cotton on the Aida supplied; the wide palette gives the soft shading in the sky and the grass.

The threads come ready sorted and numbered on the organiser, so you can start stitching straight away. You will also want a hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors. The frame is not included: once finished, wash and press the work from the back before having it framed.
