Basque

A Basque house with red timber framing and strings of peppers drying under the windows, looking out over a village that runs down to the sea at sunset: a vintage-poster style design, already printed in colour on the canvas. There is no counting involved, you simply stitch over the printed design.

Threads are not included and need to be chosen separately, in tapestry wool or cotton, matched to the printed colours. Penelope canvas has paired threads, so you can work half cross stitch over each pair or split them and work petit point for finer detail. A tapestry needle is also needed, and a frame if preferred. Once finished, it makes a picture (frame not included) or a cushion front.
