A night-time city view, with the lamp post lighting the cobbles and a bicycle propped against the canal railing. The design is already printed in colour on the canvas, so there is no counting: you simply stitch within the printed areas. The tall, narrow format makes a striking panel, though the area to cover is generous and takes some patience.
Threads are not included: buy them separately, usually tapestry wool, matching the shades to the printed colours. A large frame to keep the canvas taut and a blunt tapestry needle are useful too. Once finished, the piece can be framed, or made up into a cushion or a decorative panel.
