Description

The abbey of Mont Saint-Michel against a blazing sky: a classic French needlepoint subject, printed in colour on Penelope canvas. There is no counting involved — you simply follow the printed design and cover it stitch by stitch. Because Penelope canvas is woven in pairs of threads, you can work in half cross stitch or drop down to petit point in the more detailed areas, such as the village houses.

The canvas is sold on its own: threads and needle are not included. The required materials list shows the DMC Soft Cotton colours used for this model. Given the size, a scroll or stretcher frame helps keep the canvas taut and limits distortion. Once finished, it makes a picture to frame.
