Sea of Provence

A Provençal farmhouse among the cypresses, with flowers in the foreground and a glimpse of the sea beyond the hill. The design is already printed in colour on the antique Penelope canvas, so there is no counting: you simply follow the printed shades, working diagonal stitches that all slant the same way.

The canvas is sold without threads and without a needle: the required materials list shows the fifteen DMC Soft Cotton colours used for the model, which can be added to the cart in one go, and a canvas frame makes the work easier to handle. The broad areas of sky, sea and foliage stitch up quickly; once finished, the piece makes a picture to frame (frame not included).
