The lacemaker

An elderly lacemaker bent over her pillow, bobbins in hand, beside a window: a genre scene with an old-fashioned feel, printed in colour on Penelope canvas. You simply follow the printed design instead of counting stitches, so the stitching is relaxing, although the size makes it a long-term piece.

The canvas is sold without threads: the required materials list shows the DMC Soft Cotton colours and quantities, which can be added to the cart in one go. You will also need a blunt-tipped tapestry needle and, if you like to keep the work taut, a frame. Once finished, the panel can be framed or made up into a chair seat or a cushion.
