The tit

A great tit balancing on a thorny branch full of red berries, printed in bright colours on Pénélope antique canvas. It is worked in half cross stitch by following the printed design, with no counting: the shading of the feathers and foliage is already there on the canvas, so the work moves along steadily even over a fairly large area.

The canvas is sold without threads and without a needle. The DMC Soft Cotton colours listed under required materials can be added to the cart in one go; tapestry wool matched to the print works just as well. A scroll frame helps keep the canvas taut. Once finished, lace it over board and frame it.
