The Virgin and Child

The Virgin, wrapped in a red mantle and a blue veil, holds the sleeping Child while golden rays stream down from above: a devotional subject in painterly style, with velvety drapery, printed in colour straight onto the canvas. It is worked in needlepoint by following the printed design, with no counting involved.

The canvas is sold on its own: threads and needle are not included. The required materials list shows the DMC Soft Cotton colours chosen for this design, which can be added to the cart in one go; a rigid frame helps keep the canvas from distorting. The unworked margin leaves room for mounting, so the finished piece is ready to be framed.
