Under the Beautiful Umbrella

Two dark-faced kittens shelter under a lace parasol in a garden full of roses and daisies: a classic subject worked in half cross stitch by simply following the design already printed on the canvas, with no counting involved.

The canvas is sold on its own: threads are not included. The required materials list shows the DMC Soft Cotton colours matched to the printed shades, which can be added to the cart in one go; tapestry wool is another option. Penelope canvas is stiff enough to stitch comfortably without a frame, using a blunt tapestry needle. Once finished, the piece makes a good-sized picture to frame.
