The design is printed straight onto the runner, so you stitch over the colours on the fabric using the symbol chart as a guide: there is no counting and larger areas are easy to follow. The border is already hemmed, so once the embroidery is finished there is no sewing left to do.
The motif sits along the corners and leaves the centre free for plates, a vase or candles. A hoop or frame, sold separately, is worth using to keep the cotton taut while you work. After a gentle wash the printing ink disappears and only the stitches remain; press from the back on a soft towel to bring the embroidery up nicely.
