Hedgehog

A hedgehog with a dense coat of quills, bending over a terracotta bowl: one of Marjolein Bastin's nature studies, worked in soft shades of brown, grey and green. It is stitched on evenweave by counting the threads, usually over two, and finished with a few long stitches and the back stitch that outlines the shapes.

The kit holds all the stitching materials, threads included; the frame is not included, nor are a hoop and scissors. The fine weave and the many half tones ask for a little patience, so it suits someone who has already completed a project or two. Once finished, it looks at home framed on a wall or in a corner devoted to garden wildlife.
