A bumblebee heading for a hydrangea in soft pinks, lilacs and blues, set against a background of tiny colour specks that are already printed on the fabric. The design is by Hannah Dale, the illustrator behind Wrendale Designs, and is worked in full cross stitch with backstitch outlines and a few French knots for the finer details.
The stranded cottons come sorted by colour on a card organiser, so stitching can start straight away. The frame is not included: you will also need a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors. Once finished, the piece looks well framed, perhaps with a white mount to echo the speckled fabric.
