A corner of woodland in autumn: a little wooden bridge crossing the water, trees glowing yellow and orange and, all around, maple leaves, clusters of dark berries and rose hips framing the scene. The design is open, with no stitched background, so the white fabric becomes part of the composition.
It is worked in counted cross stitch from the symbol chart; the threads come already sorted on the organiser, which helps when there are many closely shaded colours. Alongside the kit, a hoop or frame and small sharp scissors are useful. Once finished, the frame is not included: a mount board suits the pale outline of the design well.
