A Christmas stocking worked entirely in counted cross stitch: pink poinsettias, berries, snowflakes and ribbons standing out against the black fabric. You follow the paper chart, counting the stitches; with black Aida it helps to stitch in good light, ideally with a white cloth on your lap so the holes show up clearly.
The kit holds everything needed for the stitching, including the felt for the backing, but the stocking has to be sewn and assembled once the embroidery is done: you will need sewing thread, scissors and, if you like, a ribbon loop for hanging. A long project with plenty of shading that becomes a decoration to bring out every Christmas.
