Belle des îles

A woman in a wide-brimmed straw hat surrounded by a tropical garden of leaves and flowers, with a small yellow monkey beside her. The design is already printed in colour on the canvas, so you simply follow the shades: no counting and no chart to read.

The canvas is sold on its own: threads are not included and are chosen separately, in tapestry wool or cotton, to match the printed colours. Half cross stitch is worked with diagonal stitches all slanting the same way, and a frame helps keep the canvas taut. The margin around the design leaves room for framing the finished piece or making it up as a cushion. The frame shown in the photo is not included.
