Etretat

The white cliffs of Étretat with their great arch and the Aiguille, turquoise water and a low sun on the horizon: a clean, travel-poster style view printed in colour straight onto the canvas. There is no counting involved, you simply follow the printed design, so the work stays relaxing even though the piece is a good size.

This is the printed canvas on its own: threads are not included and are chosen separately, usually tapestry wool or cotton, matched to the printed shades. Pénélope canvas has paired threads and can be worked in fine petit point or in larger half cross stitch. A frame helps keep the canvas taut. Once finished, the piece can be framed or made up into a cushion.
