A Penelope canvas printed in full colour: the design is already on the fabric and is simply covered with diagonal stitches all slanting the same way, with no counting involved. The open mesh and the generous scale of the design keep the work moving, even through the shaded petals and wings.

Threads are not included: the required materials list shows the 14 DMC Soft Cotton colours matched to the print, which can be added to the cart in one go; tapestry wool is a good alternative. A blunt tapestry needle is needed, and a frame helps keep the canvas square. Once stitched, the panel is usually framed, often without glass.
