A Pup's Life

A spaniel puppy fast asleep on a pile of puppy-training books, taken from an original watercolour by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs. The speckled background is already printed on the fabric, so the airy look is there without stitching the whole ground: the puppy and books are worked in cross stitch, with back stitch for outlines and lettering and a few French knots for detail.

The threads come pre-sorted by colour, so you can start straight away; you only need small scissors and, if you like your fabric taut, a hoop or frame. A frame is not included: the finished piece can be framed or made up into a cushion, and makes a lovely gift for dog lovers.
