Cushion - Blackbird

A blackbird in profile among grasses and little pink flowers, with tall flower heads and golden swirls against a pink sky. Linda Hoskin's artwork is worked in half cross stitch with Appletons wools, following the colours already printed on the canvas, while the finest stems are added afterwards in back stitch with stranded cotton.

The backing fabric and the cushion pad are not included, nor is the pink piping shown in the photo. Once the canvas is finished you can make it up as a cushion or frame it as a picture. Interlock canvas is stable enough to stitch in the hand, though a roller frame helps keep the work square.
