Cushion - Merle

A blackbird perched among ferns, stems of yellow blooms, blue bellflowers and small red berries on a pale background, from original artwork by Linda Hoskin. The canvas comes printed in full colour, so you simply follow the design without counting; the chart guides the backstitch worked in stranded cotton, which picks out the finer details.

The stitched piece is the size of a square cushion, but to make it up you will need backing fabric, a cushion pad and finishing materials, none of which are included; the blue velvet edging seen in the photo is not part of the kit. The panel can also be framed. Wool works best on a frame, which keeps the canvas taut.
