A high-heeled shoe drawn entirely from flowers, leaves and green scrolls, next to a bouquet tied with a pink bow: a design from Sally King's Shoe Art range, for anyone who enjoys richly shaded floral stitching. The kit comes with the fabric, threads already sorted by colour, needle and chart, so you can start straight away.

As well as cross stitch you will use back stitch for the finer outlines and French knots to give the small flowers texture: both are easy to pick up by following the instructions. A hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors are handy, and the picture frame is not included. The tall, upright shape of the finished piece works well framed.
