A brightly coloured tropical fish with yellow fins and red stripes, worked in counted cross stitch on evenweave fabric. Outlines and the details of the face are added in back stitch once the cross stitching is finished. The fabric is stitched by counting threads, usually two threads for each stitch.
The chart is printed with large squares, easy to follow even if you have little experience with counted work, and the organiser keeps the strands of stranded cotton tidy. A hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors are useful too. A frame for the finished piece is not included: the fish makes a cheerful little picture for a bathroom or a child's room.
