Woven Gingham Blue

Gingham Blue belongs to Creating Memories, the Tilda range of small-patterned fabrics grouped by season. The check here is woven in rather than printed, so the pattern reads the same on both sides and the cloth feels a little softer than a print. This is the classic supporting fabric, the one that gives larger designs room to breathe.

Use it for quilt blocks and borders, for linings and drawstring bags, for the little dresses and aprons of Tilda dolls, or cut into narrow strips for binding. Pre-wash before cutting: on a yarn-dyed cloth shrinkage shows most in the grid of the check. If you need long border strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
