A painterly female portrait bathed in summer light, with a wide flowered straw hat, printed in colour on antique Penelope canvas. It is worked in half cross stitch by following the printed design, with no counting involved: the large format makes it a long-term project, but the stitching itself stays simple and rhythmic.

Only the printed canvas is supplied: threads are not included and are bought separately, following the list of DMC Soft Cotton colours under the required materials, which can be added to the cart in one go. A floor or scroll frame helps when working a canvas this size; once finished, the panel can be stretched and framed as a picture.
