An old Breton stone cottage facing the sea, with hydrangeas in the foreground and a seagull flying past: a classic subject worked in half cross stitch by following the design already printed on the canvas, with no counting involved. Penelope canvas has double threads, so it can be stitched in plain half cross stitch or, by splitting the threads, in petit point for finer shading.
Threads are not included: choose them separately, in tapestry wool or cotton, matching the printed colours. A blunt tapestry needle is needed, and a frame if you like to work with the canvas stretched. Once finished, the piece can be blocked and framed; the frame is not part of the product.
