The village

A tall slice of mountain scenery: wooden chalets behind a fence, a meadow of pink lupins in the foreground and snowy peaks closing the view. The design is already printed in colour on the canvas, so there is no counting involved: you simply fill in the shapes shade by shade.

Penelope canvas is woven with double threads, which allows petit point worked with diagonal stitches all slanting the same way. Threads are not included: you will need tapestry wool or cotton matching the printed colours, plus a blunt tapestry needle. The margin around the design leaves room for mounting, so the finished panel can be framed or made up into a long cushion.
