Hannah Dale's chameleon is worked in full cross stitch on an Aida whose background is already printed with the paint splatters of the original watercolour, so you stitch the animal only and the painterly effect remains in the open areas. The outlines are finished in backstitch and there is a single French knot for the eye.
The threads come ready sorted on a card organiser and numbered as on the chart, so you can start straight away without winding skeins. You will also need a hoop or frame and small scissors, and the picture frame is not included. Once finished, the piece looks good framed or mounted in a hoop.
