Stained Glass Slipper

An evening shoe drawn like a stained-glass window: the rainbow panels are held together by silver-grey leading, worked in full cross stitch and finished with backstitch that picks out the outlines and the little curls. There are plenty of colour changes, so it suits a stitcher with a few projects already behind them rather than an absolute beginner.

The threads are included, already sorted by colour on an organiser, so you can start straight away without matching shades yourself. A hoop or frame makes the stitching easier, and you will need a picture frame for the finished piece, as it is not included. The design hangs well in a bedroom or hallway, on its own or alongside the other shoes in the collection.
