Peek-a-boo

A duckling just out of its shell, its yellow down still ruffled: artwork by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs, stitched on a small piece of white Aida already printed with the speckle that runs through the collection. The finished piece is mounted in the cream card supplied and sent in the envelope, for a new baby, for Easter or to wish someone a good new start.

It is worked in counted cross stitch from the chart, with a few fractional stitches, back stitch for the outlines and one French knot. The threads come pre-sorted in the kit, along with the needle, so you only need scissors and, if you like, a small hoop. The alphabet provided lets you add a name or a date.
