A view of New York in autumn: skyscrapers fading into the evening light, the Chrysler Building in the distance, wet asphalt and trees in full golden colour. The reflections and the lit windows are built up from many shades, so this is a project that rewards careful chart reading and some experience of counted cross stitch.
The blue-grey fabric chosen by Merejka works as sky and as the overall tone of the city. A frame or hoop and good lighting make the stitching easier; the frame shown in the photo is not included, but the finished piece, with this size and subject, is clearly made for framing.
