Afina Denim

Afina Denim is the dark-ground version of the Afina print, part of Tilda's Something Blue collection inspired by blue and white pottery: full-bellied vases, peonies, trailing stems and a little bird drawn in pale blue, like painted porcelain in reverse. The strong contrast suits large quilt blocks, borders, cushion backs, bags and aprons.

Next to the lighter prints in the same collection it works as a deep background that holds the palette together. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; choose one of the larger cuts if you need long strips or want to match the pattern repeat.
