Aubery Coral

Aubery Coral belongs to Songbird, the collection Tone Finnanger designed after a trip to Venice, retelling Art Nouveau lines in a softer, more naive way. A young woman in profile, flowers in her hair, appears among coral roses and curling stems: a large-scale, directional print, so cut it with the direction of the design in mind.

It looks its best when it stays whole – the centre panel of a quilt, a cushion front, bags, notebook covers or a piece stretched over a frame. It pairs happily with the smaller prints in the same collection, which give the eye somewhere to rest. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
