Ava Teal

Ava Teal belongs to Songbird, the collection Tone Finnanger designed after a trip to Venice, with a light, naive nod to Art Nouveau: little birds darting among flowering branches in a dusty pastel palette of yellow, pink and teal on a pale ground.

The repeat is close and busy, so the print also works well in small pieces: quilt blocks, drawstring bags, pillowcases, pouches and linings, as well as the classic Tilda hearts and soft animals. It sits easily next to the solids and dotty prints of the same collection, which pick up the same shades. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
