Bellflower Blue belongs to Wallflower, the Tilda collection that gives a romantic twist to the decorative styles of the 1960s and 70s; this print sits in the blue and caramel side of the palette. The design is small and densely packed: pink bellflowers scattered through a tangle of little leaves, with just a glimpse of the pale background showing through.
It is a blender to use as a background or filler in quilt blocks, where you want movement without competing with the large-scale prints. It also works nicely for linings, pouches, cushions and clothes for Tilda dolls. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; choose one of the larger cuts if you need long strips.
