Bellflower Pine belongs to Wallflower, the Tilda collection that takes a romantic look at the decorative styles of the 1960s and 70s. The print is dense and small-scale: yellow and green bellflowers scattered among little leaves and curling stems over a pine green ground. From a distance it reads almost as a textured solid, which is what makes it such a useful background.
It is a classic blender to set beside the larger prints of the collection in quilt blocks, borders or the back of a cushion; the tiny motifs also suit bags, pouches, doll clothes and small decorations. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
