Carol Cornflower belongs to Something Blue, the Tilda collection born from Tone Finnanger's love of blue and white pottery. Full-blown roses and little flower sprigs stand out in white and pale blue against a cornflower background, with the feel of old-fashioned wallpaper: a dense, evenly spaced print with no particular direction, so it can be cut with very little waste.
It works well as a quilt background or backing, and for cushions, bags, dolls and pouches, and it sits easily alongside the lighter fabrics in the same collection. Pre-wash before cutting so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for borders and long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
