Chambray Olive

Chambray is woven with a coloured thread crossing a pale one: from a distance it reads as a solid, up close it has a gentle shimmer of colour that adds depth to a project. This soft olive green is one of the Tilda basics, made to sit behind the printed collections and tie them together.

It is an easy fabric for borders, cushion backs and quilt sashing, and just as good for doll bodies, bags, pouches and aprons. Pre-wash it before cutting, so the shrinkage happens before you sew, and allow a little extra if you plan to use it for binding. For strips cut along the length, choose one of the larger cuts.
