Esther Cold Cream

Esther Cold Cream belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that looks back to old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. The print is a close-packed meadow of little flowers in the collection's colder palette – cherry red, pink, blue and beige – over a cream ground that holds it all together and makes it easy to combine.

A small, even design like this works well cut into tiny pieces: patchwork blocks, small quilts, Tilda dolls and their dresses, drawstring bags, linings and bag interiors. It sits happily next to the larger prints in the same collection and next to plain fabrics. Pre-wash before cutting so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for borders and long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
