Frida Brown

Frida Brown belongs to Creating Memories, the Tilda range of small-scale prints grouped by season: this one sits in the autumn palette, with tiny posies scattered over a warm brown ground. Because the motifs are small and evenly spread there is no obvious direction to follow, so the fabric cuts with little waste and works well in patchwork blocks, borders, pouches and cloth dolls.

It is a supporting print: it pairs happily with solids and with the other grounds in the same colour range, and makes a quiet background when the feature fabric is large-scale. Pre-wash before cutting so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
