Lillian Ochre

Lillian Ochre belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that recalls old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses, here in the autumn palette of rust, ochre, greens and teal. It is a small-scale print, one of the collection's blenders: the little sprigs cover the surface evenly, so from a distance the fabric reads as a warm, lively background.

That makes it handy in a quilt as the calm link between larger prints, though it also stands on its own for linings, drawstring bags, cushions, pouches and doll clothes. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips or continuous borders, choose one of the larger cuts.
