Mable Rust

Mable Rust belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that looks back to old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. The print is neat and closely set: yellow roses with little pink blooms enclosed in wreaths of pale blue leaves, on a warm rust ground that echoes the autumn palette of the collection.

This medium-scale design is easy to cut into squares and strips without losing the motif, so it suits quilt blocks, drawstring bags, pillowcases, pouches and clothes for Tilda dolls. It sits happily next to the ochre, green and teal prints of the same collection and with plain fabrics. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
