Mae Burgundy belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that looks back to old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. It is one of the collection's blenders, the small-scale prints that tie the larger designs together: here tiny blue flowers, pale sprigs and pink dots on a deep burgundy ground, from the colder winter palette.
It is an easy fabric for the small pieces of a quilt, for borders, for linings and bag interiors, and for Tilda doll clothes, where a tiny print stays in scale. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips or large squares, choose one of the bigger cuts.
