Myrtle Blue

Myrtle Blue belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection inspired by old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. The roses here have a nostalgic feel: pink and fuchsia posies with blue leaves, evenly spaced across a cream ground. The print is medium in scale and still reads well when cut into small squares, so it works in quilt blocks as much as in clothes and accessories.

It belongs to the cooler, wintery side of the collection, with its blues and burgundies, and sits happily next to the dots, stripes and small prints of the same range. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
