Poppy Seed Redwood is one of the Tilda basics: a densely packed print of brick-red seeds on a dusty pink ground that reads almost as a solid from a distance, with a gentle texture up close. This is the kind of fabric you always need – for the spaces between larger printed blocks, for a quiet border, or for a backing that doesn't compete with the front.
It also works on its own for small makes: drawstring bags, pot holders, cushions, dresses and bodies for Tilda dolls, where the small-scale motif still reads well on little pieces. Pre-wash the cut before cutting into it, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For long border or binding strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
