Poppy Seed Terracotta is one of the Tilda basics: a warm terracotta ground covered with very small, irregularly scattered pale dots. From a short distance it reads almost as a textured solid, which is exactly what makes it so useful between the larger prints of a quilt, in borders, in small triangles and in binding.
It also works for the back of a cushion, for bags and aprons, and for the bodies of Tilda dolls and animals, where a tiny print does not compete with patterned clothes. The basic cut is enough for a few blocks or a small project; for a continuous strip choose one of the full-width sizes. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting.
