Solid Cantaloupe

Solid Cantaloupe is a warm plain shade, halfway between orange and melon pink, part of the Tilda basics made to go with the printed collections. Solids are what hold a quilt together: they work for backgrounds, sashing, borders and backing, and give the patterned fabrics room to breathe.

Tilda cotton has a soft, closely woven handle that also suits dolls, cushions, bags and small accessories, and it appliqués well. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need a wide piece for a backing or long border strips, choose one of the larger cuts offered on the page.
