Solid Dijon

Solid Dijon is a warm plain shade, a full mustard yellow from the Tilda Basics, the fabrics made to go alongside the printed collections. Solids are what let a quilt breathe: they work for backgrounds, borders and sashing between blocks, and give the eye a rest between two prints that would otherwise blur together.

It is a smooth, closely woven cotton, handy for sewing projects too: bag linings, cushions, aprons, and the bodies and clothes of Tilda dolls. Pre-wash it before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need a continuous length for borders or backing, choose one of the larger cuts.
