Solid Rust

Solid Rust is a warm plain shade, somewhere between terracotta and brick, part of the Tilda basics made to go alongside the printed collections. Solids are what give a quilt room to breathe: they work for backgrounds, borders and sashing between blocks, and they let the prints stand out instead of competing with them.

This rusty red sits well with autumn tones, muted greens and creams, and is equally suited to dolls, cushions, bags and small accessories sewn by hand or by machine. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For backings or long borders, choose one of the larger cuts.
